Why did library scientist not lead the digital revolution?
 
 
"We are told by futurists that someday when all recorded information/knowledge is digitized and available online, it will be possible to gain access to needed information directly online without the intermediate step of using bibliographic tools. While this is difficult to imagine, it may happen; but it will not happen without some kind of control. There is simply too much knowledge to make it even desirable to request, for example, every use of Shakespeare's nem ever recorded."
